Are you a survivor?

Drawing by Andrea Mims, an incarcerated survivor of domestic violenceIf you or someone you know is an incarcerated survivor of domestic violence, please contact the California Coalition for Battered Women in Prison (CCBWP). CCBWP is a statewide coalition of lawyers, students, domestic violence advocates, and other supporters that understands the causal relationship between the exploitation of women in abusive relationships and why women end up in prison, whether it s because a survivor shot her partner in self-defense or because she was forced to be involved in criminal activity under the threat of violence. Our goal is to reform the criminal justice system so that survivors of domestic violence may finally live a life free from abuse, whether by an abusive partner or by the state. We need your ideas, your stories, your artwork, and your financial support. Help us build a movement to combat all forms of violence against women. CCBWPs spring event is in San Francisco on Saturday, April 13th. To become involved with our work, call Olivia Wang at (415) 255-7036 ext. 309, send a letter to CCBWP, 100 McAllister St., Ste #200, San Francisco, CA 94102, or email us at ccbwp@yahoo.com.
